About Rev. Babette du Plessis - Biddlecombe
A brief bio. of the President and Founder of Eagles Glide International Ministries and Senior co-Pastor of Eagles Glide Felowship.
Eagles Glide International Ministries was born out of a desire to see the Body of Christ reach its full God-given potential through Christ's redemptive love.
Rev. Babette du Plessis-Biddlecombe was born and raised for 36 years of her life in South Africa. Her and her husband, Rev. Jonathan Biddlecombe, and their two children, moved to the United States of America on December 1996. She is a descendent of the French Huguenots.
Rev. Babette and Rev. Jonathan received scholarships to study in America, and attended Christ For The Nations Bible Institute in Dallas Texas to further their studies. They both completed the two year Practical Theology Program and were licenced. Rev. Babette then went on to complete the third year Pastoral school of Ministry and received her ordination through Christ For the Nations in Dallas Texas.
Rev. Babette acknowledged God's call to ministry at a very young age, while looking at the stain glass depictions of Christ's sufferings on the cross, in a Roman Catholic church in Cape Town South Africa. She became born again at the tender age of eight, and began witnessing to the neighboring children. By thirteen she was active in teaching Sunday school, and ministering to the African orphans on outreach through the Methodist church. Her heart was moved with compassion as many of these children gave their lives to the Lord. During her later teens, she experienced some trauma in her life, that brought much pain, bitterness and great disappointment. Refusing to forgive those who hurt her, she turned away from the church, and a once intimate relationship with Christ.
For the next seven years she was to experience much spiritual confusion, and a journey of deep spiritual searching for the truth had begun. After completing high school, she went on to study at art college, and then proceeded to work in the graphic art field for many years. Rev. Babette had been in churches most of her life, but knew that something was missing, and desired to see the churches come alive with the truth of God's redemptive love. In her 23rd year Rev Babette had a Pauline like experience, after repenting and seeing the need to forgive. During her water baptism while attending a Messianic congregation, she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and His empowerment - she would never be the same again.
Rev. Babette felt like she had come home, and rededicated her life to the Lord ministry. She has experienced many miracles during her life, from instant healing of chronic asthma, and Renoirs disease, to surviving threats on her life while preaching the gospel to the Moslems during a time of political upheaval in South Africa. There are many more miracles she was to experience through he next years in her life. From divine healing to God's miraculous interventions and provisions. During her formative years in South Africa, she concentrated on the arts, biblical studies, coordinated a ministry for orphans, evangelized, and taught the Word of God.
Rev. Babette has taught and ministered internationally in churches, of varied denominations, Women's Aglow and Full Gospel Businessmen's groups, conferences and seminars, youth, women and house groups, men's prisons, mental institutes, as well as to staff and employees at various Christian businesses.
She is also working on her freelance writing and research, is teaching at a university and has completed her Masters in Theology and now studying for her Doctorate in Theology.
Between her speaking engagements, she writes, mentors, and teaches. Her and her family resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they have a "tent making" business called Smart Art LLC, (www.smartart.name), producing graphic design, web development and book publishing.
Rev. Babette believes that those in full-time ministry have a responsibility to train, disciple and mentor others in the Body of Christ. To learn to serve and work together with various ministries and churches, and to teach the people of God to be witnesses in every area of their lives. She has a great desire to see the children of the world fed and ministered - "They are our future generation." She has a desire to open more orphanages in South Africa and the world. "Holding an aids baby in your arms changes your heart forever, seeing the miracles Jesus can do for them, makes you a new person with a greater vision to serve."
This ministry stands for truth, righteousness, justice and reconciliation. We also sees the need for the church, the whole body of Christ to wake up, take her place, and make an active stand against the lack of morals in society. To help raise the standard in society in these last days - if we do not, then who will? Our bibles, and prayer have been taken out of the schools and public place, divorce is on the rise, but with God, and only with Him, can a righteous standard be raised. We must be a covenant people, and raise the standard, first in our homes and then into every area of our lives.
Rev Babette and her husband both co-partner in Eagles Glide Ministry and Fellowship, run the SmartArt business. They have been married for over 20 years and have a teenage daughter and teenage son who reside with them.
We ask you to please hold us up in prayer.
